Virgin Atlantic has unveiled their latest and fabulous New Jersey Clubhouse in Newark Liberty Airport. It wanted to capture the downtown appeal of lower Manhattan and it did. The inspiration comes from soho boutiques, TriBecCa-style lofts, Noho coffee shops, secret bars in the Lower East Side and meatpacking district.

Virgin Atlantic Newark space was a $250 million+ Upper Class ventrure and not only has the mix and muse of NYC’s downtown flair but also Virgin Atlantic’s warmth and individuality. Travelers can take their original aiport transportation services of access luxury limousines services to escort them to the airport and its clubhouse. The airline’s in-house design group teamed up with New York-based architectural practice Slade Architecture, the same architects who did JFK’s Clubhouse. The space has a cocktail bar where crystal fittings refract natural light and have a “Passion Pit” for tranquility and calming sleeping habits. It also posses an Origami Lounge for privacy and a Liquid Lounge to be used as another cocktail area. Its Brasserie is a screening room that shows films by both the Television school graduate film-makers and National Film.

Some of the furniture pieces include Bertoia chairs and stools, Saarinen marble tables and Pearson Lloyd’s turtle chair. Also work done by local artists such as Kate Hazzell , Jorge Colombo and Garrett Pru are hung in the Clubhouse. Spokespeople for Newark says there has always been a significant market for Virgin Atlantic and our luxury limo airport services. They say their new Clubhouse was designed for the intention to truly reflect that spirit and wanted the heart of downtown New York to be instilled in the design.
